Steps To Take When Running A Commercial Popcorn Maker

It is easy to use a commercial popcorn popper as long as you have the proper training. However, many people are now buying these machines for home use or small business ventures and are not getting the professional training that large theaters and carnivals offer their employees. I wrote this article to give these people a helping hand in learning how to operate their new machines.

The first thing you will want to do is heat the machine for about 15 to 20 seconds. Finding the heat switch and pushing it into the “on” position is all you need to do. Popcorn popper heat buttons are almost always placed on the top of the popcorn maker, so it should be easy to find.

The machine must be hot first before adding the oil, but should not be left on too long as it can ruin the machine. Keep a clock near your machine or silently count down from 20 seconds so that you will know when to take the next step.

Next you will want to add the oil to the popcorn machine and put the motor button into the on position. This button is usually found right next to the heat button. Turn this on before you add the salt and popcorn to ensure that the three will mix well.

The salt and popcorn can be put in with the oil right after you get the motor running. The motor button will move the oil, salt, and popcorn into the ideal mixture.

After doing this you will need to push the last “on” button into place; this button is the heat lamp. Heat lamp “on” buttons are found alongside the heat button and motor button. Leave the heat lamp on so that your popcorn maker    will help keep your popcorn warm after it is done cooking.

The next step is just to wait until your popcorn has finished popping. Turn the heat switch off and take the popcorn out with care as it may be very hot. The most effective way to remove the popcorn is to gently dump it out. This will ensure that you do not damage the kettle.

Leave the heat lamp on until all your popcorn has been served. Always be sure to turn the heat lamp off before retiring the machine for the night. This will make sure you get the longest life span possible from your heat lamps.

Finally, you will need to wait for your popcorn popper to cool off and commence cleaning it. Washing your popper will make sure that your machine looks good and your popcorn tastes great.
